Weekly ELSAMARIT Edition - Spicy and Heated are on the menušŸ”„šŸ”„

Itā€™s International Women's Day on Friday, and Iā€™d like to just acknowledge the resilience and ongoing struggles of women that I know and that I donā€™t know in the US and worldwide. This year has been a tough year for women, and I feel it has been deeply depressing with where we are nationally for womenā€™s rights, especially concerning abortion rights, IVF, mat leave support, and just the shocking disconnect of what it takes to be a woman today, sadly I could go on and on. This year's International Womenā€™s Day is marked by some milestones but mostly some very poignant reminders of the work that lies ahead. Knowing the tough facts of what is happening to womenā€™s rights in the US and globally is important. Please stay educated on this serious matter, but today and in this EM Edition, I want to highlight some of the positives that Iā€™ve noticed and loved. These things are worth a celebration, and in moments of darkness or areas in our life that are uncertain ā€“ focusing on the light can help the light expand:

  1. Taylor Swift and BeyoncĆ©: Driving Economic Influence In today's dynamic cultural landscape, female artists like Taylor Swift and BeyoncĆ© not only dominate the music industry but also drive substantial economic impact! Their creativity, influence, and entrepreneurial spirit contribute to the vitality of various sectors, from entertainment to fashion and beyond. As advocates for gender equality and champions of self-expression, Swift and BeyoncĆ© inspire millions worldwide, embodying the power of women to shape economies and inspire change. LOVE LOVE LOVE all of this. ā€œWho run the world?ā€

  2. France's Historic Step: Hot off the press, abortion as a Constitutional Right France's historic decision to enshrine abortion as a constitutional right marks a significant victory for reproductive justice and women's autonomy. By affirming access to safe and legal abortion as a fundamental right, France sets a precedent for progressive legislation and gender equality initiatives globally. This groundbreaking development not only protects women's reproductive rights but also reaffirms the principles of bodily autonomy and gender equity. If you need another reason other than fine wine, champagne, baguettes, croissants, escargot, and my wedding to love France, hereā€™s another one.

  3. Badass Women Lead Companies Advocating for Real Change: The first one is Bobbie. An industry disruptor creating so much more than their top-of-the-line organic formula. They have successfully created a platform to support anyone choosing to feed their baby formula and have taken the shame out of this choice or in their words, ā€œshaking the stigma.ā€ Personally, a HUGE support in my motherhood journey, but Iā€™ve been so proud to partner with them and talk about them on my IG @that_cherner_life because of the impact they are making in pushing government to support paid leave. Another brand that Iā€™m personally so proud to support is Perelel. I took their prenatal system for basically two years straight because back-to-back babies are whoaaaaa and I still take their postpartum supplements. If interested I do have a discount code: ELSAC15 šŸ™Œ They just announced a pledge for $10 million to support funding womenā€™s health to directly provide more access to essential reproductive care. I mean what a couple of powerhouses. Here at EM, we aim to be as transformative as these brands. Just think if more companies did work like this?

As we approach this day, let us recommit ourselves to the ongoing work we need from everyone to move these womenā€™s issues forward. From the cultural influence of female icons to legislative victories and corporate advocacy, women's voices and contributions shape our world in profound ways. I hope that ā€œGet One, Gift Oneā€ is a small personal celebration and reminder to thank the women around us.

Here's to living a life well loved, cheers!
